Seeking An Ultimate Relationship With God Everyday

Porn-Rachel’s Story

Porn. Yes, we all know what it is for the most part. We’ve heard about it, read about it, maybe even seen it or know others who see it on a regular basis. I don’t know about you, but deep down I know it is unacceptable and not pleasing to God.

I had a serious boyfriend who was addicted to pornography. I found out because I was on his computer one day “checking my email” as I was snooping through the history of the websites that he had frequented in the past week. I clicked on a couple that sounded extremely questionable and I was so shocked. Shock was about all there was to describe my instant reaction, followed closely by a feeling of anger and betrayal. I was growing to respect this man who I thought loved God and then I discovered this! He and his friends told me that all guys do it-it’s only an addiction if you look at it “x” amount of times, etc. He tried to tell me that it in no way had to do with me because he didn’t compare me to these naked, crazy women at all.

I somehow felt so defiled. I felt so unvalued. I felt inadequate and insecure. I almost felt guilty for a second because I would not have sex with him and wondered if that was why he was looking at this stuff.

I could not take it. We definitely broke up.

I just really want to encourage you to stand firm in what you know is right. God is calling us to soo much more than this. Never settle. Never lower your standards. Never let someone else try to justify what you know in your heart is the right thing. Never start believing those kinds of lies these guys were trying to tell me. And definitely never start listening to the lies Satan tries to throw at you about it being your fault.

Not everyone is involved with porn-so don’t believe it.

Here is another story from a girl named Rachel who was affected by porn in a different way from a man she and her family knew and trusted:

What if…
We weren’t so quiet about this issue?
We actually believed that not every guy is into porn?
We actually believed God calls us to a much higher standard?
